Yum-Yum Cookies
The woman who gave me this recipe claims these are "healthy" cookies. Personally, I don't see it...but they sure are TASTY! Very addictive! I store them in the freezer. Follows the recipe just as it was given to me:

Boil together for 3 minutes:

1 c. white sugar (cane preferably)
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. butter/margerine
1/2 c. cocoa

Remove from heat and add:

1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. oats
1/2 c. oatmeal bran

OR

3 c. oats
1 c. oatmeal bran
1 c. walnuts

Moving quickly:

-Stir in vanilla and oak mix
-Use two spoons to drop onto cookie sheets
-Put in fridge to cool
-Seal in container
-Store in fridge or freezer for freshness

I have a similar recipe, I call them No Bake Bars..

1/2 cup milk
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup butter
3 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup chopped nuts
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix sugar, butter, cocoa, and milk in a large saucepan. Boil for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add peanut butter. Stir until blended. Add rolled oats, nuts, vanilla, and salt. Put into 8"x8" square pan and chill. Cut into squares.

With the oats, nuts, and oat bran it's a lot of fiber, so it is healthier than a lot of cookies. Sounds yummy!

Sounds yummy, although I do tend to try not to overdo on anything that keeps the husband too regular.

You see, we have a really little dog that likes to sleep with us under the sheets . . .
